Board of Supervisors just voted, County offices closed tomorrow

I checked with court administration and per Judicial Council, courts will be operational tomorrow.

County offices will be closed tomorrow.
This will be the same situation for Christmas Eve.

Offices at the County of Humboldt will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 5, in observance of the National Day of Mourning for President George H. W Bush.

Essential services, such as law enforcement offices, will remain open and operational.

Humboldt County follows all federally recognized holidays and has traditionally recognized each National Day of Mourning following the death of a U.S. President. Federal government offices, will be closed Wednesday in recognition of the National Day of Mourning, as declared by President Donald J. Trump.

“While I realize that this will be an inconvenience for some who want to do business with the county, this is also an important time for us all to reflect on the life and legacy of a true family man who served as a World War II Navy Pilot, Congressman, Ambassador to the United Nations, CIA Director, Vice President and President,” said Chair of the Board and 5th District Supervisor Ryan Sundberg. “We can all learn a great deal from President Bush, who lived with a humble demeanor and served his country with grit and determination.”

In addition to Wednesday’s National Day of Mourning, all flags at county facilities have been lowered to half-staff and will remain that way through Dec. 30, per Presidential Proclamation.

County offices will resume normal business hours Thursday, Dec. 6.
