Officer Singh's murder by a coward brought back the emotion of a court trial I covered in Atlanta

Watching Officer Singh's brother, Chief Richardson and others speak at the press conferences the past two days has been so emotional.

I haven't felt this level of emotion since I covered a court trial in Atlanta where a female officer with major injuries testified against the coward who gunned down her unsuspecting partner.

The officers followed up (out of caution from a previous call)  and went to check on a domestic violence victim. The male officer knocked on the door, the defendant opened the door and started firing. The female officer was on the radio with dispatch and took cover the best she could. She broke down on the stand and said she felt guilty because she survived.
