Nine current felony charges, prior conviction for sex offense involving a minor and he files for bail reduction days before his jury trial?

Michael Franco is facing nine counts of alleged sexual acts involving a minor in Humboldt. He already has a prior conviction out of Los Angeles County for a sex offense involving minor. Franco's jury trial was confirmed for January 7.



Franco's attorney, Mr. Russ Clanton filed a motion for reasonable bail on December 21. That motion is scheduled to be heard on the same day as trial assignment, January 4.

Franco waived his right to a preliminary hearing in October.

Mr. Clanton is currently in the middle of jury selection for another molestation case that is expected to last through January; unless it resolves.
