A lot goes in behind the scenes in Humboldt County. Why just single out unions and PACS?

THC's latest post raises some good questions. However, the timing of posting it on Christmas Eve was a cheap shot. The NCJ article was dated December 11.

While I agree with the questions THC raises in this post, there is a lot of speculation about certain claims in THC' s post.

The real investigative question is how did Thad learn of this stipulation?
Thad usually likes to link to documents but he did not in this case. Why not? A simple google search brought up this pdf.

Thad made a big deal about mentioning HDSO's donations to Maggie Fleming, Virginia Bass and Ryan Sundberg.

Thad left out this information. Why? There was no evidence that there was any intention to conceal, deceive or mislead the public. And, that there was no prior history of "violating the Act." (page 7 of the pdf)

(Google HDSO and FPPC stipulation for the entire pdf. )

The real newsflash is whether this is one of NCJ's  shoddy "cut and paste jobs" from documents obtained while sitting at a desk or did someone tip NCJ off? Is there an agenda to selectively reporting on this stipulation? And, why no comment from Hicks or Borges?

Is the stipulation a legitimate news story? Yes it is. However coming from a publication that is heavy with pot advertisers and a publisher who has made no secret of her bias against Supervisors Bass and Sundberg, NCJ's reporting of this should be questioned.

Not to mention that after heavily criticizing HUMCPR in the past, NCJ had no problem providing their new bff /guest columnist Lee Ulansey a forum. If Lee has moved to Hawaii, who cares what he thinks about local issues and why give him a column?

I don't see the trolls that criticize me or others and NCJ defenders bring such facts up.  Or the fact about Thad's personal and close friendship with former police chief Andy Mills.

In a small town, people, including reporters and elected officials have friends. The problem is when certain people want to make a big deal about some connections and ignore others. Apply the rules and standards evenly.

If you like to dish it out, then you can sure handle the consequences aka facts.
