Keith Dwayne Giampapa's jury trial is expected to last 6 weeks


Keith Dewayne Giampapa's jury trial is scheduled to start on January 4.

Charges and special allegations for each count are listed below.


These are minutes from trial assignment. DA Maggie Fleming was in court for trial assignment today. Two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

The charges for the preliminary hearing were different. Giampapa was held to answer on those charges.



Giampapa's attorney is Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin. Deputy Roger Rees is prosecuting the case.

Update 2: 53-year-old Keith Dewayne Giampapa has been arrested for attempted murder, mayhem, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling after shooting 2 people on Wade Rd. on September 30, 2015.

Update 1:
"On Thursday, November 15, 2015 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Detectives from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office arrested Keith Dewayne Giampapa, age 53, after a two month, intense, investigation. A Ramey Warrant was issued by a Humboldt County Superior Court Judge for PC664/187(a)- Attempted Murder; PC205- Mayhem; and PC246- Shoot at Inhabited Dwelling. Giampapa agreed to meet with investigators at the Sheriff’s Office and after an interview Giampapa was arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for the above listed charges.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at approximately 11:10 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a shooting victim stating he and another female victim had been shot on Wade Rd. in the Alderpoint area. Deputies arrived on scene along with medical personnel and the victims were airlifted to out of the area hospitals for major injuries. Deputies searched the crime scene and did not locate any other victims.

The suspect is still at large. Detectives are on scene to further investigate this incident.
