Will David Kobak, charged with the murder of his roommate, waive his preliminary hearing?

David Kobak, charged with the murder of his roommate had intervention scheduled on 12/19. It was continued to today. New dates are Intervention on January 17. Preliminary January 22.

Defense requested a "short continuance" because they received discovery this morning. Deputy District Attorney Whitney Barnes was present for the People; no objection from DA. Judge John Feeney granted tbe defense motion.

On 12/19, while the preliminary hearing "remained set", there was discussion about a "possible waiver of preliminary".

  1. This guy's a loose cannon and needs to be charged for murder. His "poor me egor" picture is BS! Don't fall for his innocent facade

    1. It is obvious that you do not know this man. David has always been a man who would help anyone who is in need. This is so far out in left field for him. There is more to this story and I would hope and pray that we all wait for the truth to come out. David did not run and or deny his actions. He is the one who called for the police and that says something about the man.

  2. Dave Kobak is one of the kindest person I know. We were together 22years.he helped me raise my sons .Never did Dave have a propensity towards violence. My sons adore Dave, he a hard working man always willing to help others and a wonderful role model for my sons. Dave and I remain very close. He is family.there is more to this story and Dave does not belong in jail .for 75 years he has been a upstanding citizen.. I also knew Fred well. This is a tragic situation, but Dave Kobak is not a loose cannon.Far from it. Bad things can happen to good people and this is a example of just that.

  3. Cheri are you as drunk as he usually is? David was a angry awful man who was always jealous of my father. He stole my fathers life and not even out of self defense. They were best friends and I cant believe you have the nerve to lie and defend him. I hope he rots

  4. I cant imagine the pain this family is going through. Loosing someone you love is never easy and there are no words that can soften the blow. Saying that from my heart is all that I can do to help this family. But adding pain to someone else or their family is not the way to avenge or defend a family. There is more to this story and until it comes out I will always believe in David. This is not the man he was or is. He has spent over a year in jail and I have not heard him complain one bit. While I pray for David every day I also pray for Fred's family and their healing.
