"Unfortunately, because I am a victim of your conduct, I will be unable to participate in the major civil suit that I am certain will be filed against you personally and the City of Eureka."

This is one statement out of a four page letter sent by former Humboldt County Superior Court Judge John R. Morrison to Brian Gerving (City of Eureka Building Department), with a cc to Mayor Frank Jager and the City Attorney.

The letter is dated September 5, 2017. I received it just minutes ago.

It addresses how Mr. Morrison is personally affected by the City of Eureka's demolishing of 811 H Street and the ongoing saga of the City of Eureka vs Floyd and Betty Squires.

"I was admitted to the practice of law in the State of California 51 years ago. I also sat for 20 years as an elected Judge in all of the Courts of Humboldt County. I spent another 17 years presiding as Visiting Judge in 40 of the remaining 58 counties throughout the State of California. I presided over numerous civil matters from Small Claims to million dollar court trials and jury trials. In all of these matters I never saw anything as blatantly unjust as to what you have done in this matter."

I have contacted Mr. Gerving, Mayor Jager and the City Attorney. If they respond, I will include that response in a separate post.
