After five continuances for a doctor's report, why even take the next hearing seriously?

Dr. Chamberlain's report on Ewa Misztal was due December 13. It was continued to December 27.

On  November 8, Dr. Chamberlain requested 30 days for a report. Before that it was continued for the third time.

Wouldn't it be easier to calendar the hearing when the report is finally available? That is what happens when the "incompetency" claim is used willy nilly. Some of the Public Defenders know how to use the system in an overburdened rural court and a state that does not know how to prevent abuse of the system.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer is prosecuting the case.

Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is representing Misztal.

  1. If she stays any longer, the crazy woman will become a citizen by default. Is that the goal of the wonderful public defenders?
