Schools closing due to Norovirus but what about public spaces like the Courthouse

"With Norovirus spreading, how does the County/Courts plan to handle hygiene, especially on the Second floor?

Hunboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson responded, "John the Court is working with Judicial Council to address the issue."

I sent an  email to Humboldt County Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson and cced the Supervisors.

Tbe rest of the email is listed below:

"There are cloth seats in most courtrooms. Courtrooms 6, 7, and 8 are not too bad  but the rest are filthy, during normal times.
Any plan to keep staff and citizens safe?

You have one diligent custodian who cleans and checks the bathroom on the Second Floor. The third floor bathrooms, mainly from Court overflow can get dirty fast.

No windows and people don't cover their mouths."

I realize that Court administration and the Supervisors can't teach people basic manners like covering their mouth when they cough but the other issues do need to be addressed on a regular basis, not just because of the current Norovirus panic.

Governor Jerry Brown and the state lawmakers have no problem shipping prisoners to Humboldt County. They do not provide our courts with resources. Governor Brown drags his feet on appointing Judges. On a County level, we are the "rural step child". It is time funding and adequate resources are provided to this part of Northern California because we pay the same state taxes and yet get stiffed when it comes to resources and funding.

Supervisor Fennell is away until January 8. CEO Bartleson is away but checking email intermittently.   She responded promptly to my email.
