Andrew Stunich appears in court, and specially appears for his unnamed attorney, case set for trial setting on October 23

Local attorney Andrew Stunich's arraignment was continued to October 2 at 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom 8. The case did resolve in early resolution court and trial setting is scheduled for October 23.


Stunich appeared and arraignment was completed today. Stunich said he had retained an attorney but no attorney was named in court. No substitution of attorney has been filed.


Stunich plead not guilty,waived time and said his attorney will make routine appearances.

Stunich had made a counter offer to the DA. He told Commissioner Timothy Canning he had not heard back.Then Deputy DA Andy Truitt and he privately spoke. Mr. Truitt said, "We do not have a resolution at this time.

At Mr. Truitt's request, the case was moved to the home court. It will be on the misdemeanor calendar. No courtroom number stated today.

No other media in court, again today.

    2. Good question. Home Court in Humboldt Court short speak refers to one of the four courts th where a particular criminal case is assigned to go through the judicial process. Whether it a misdemeanor or a felony, each court has certain alphabets assigned and all cases with the last name go to that courtroom. Courtroom 8 is an early resolution court. If cases dont resolve in that court, they are assigned to the home court.
