(Henley)
"In regards to charge before the court, the only evidence is a hearsay statement from a likely suspect," said Deputy Public Defender Megan O'Connell.
Desiree Henley, who by her own admission was with Kattie Rae Yocum, inside the Blue Heron office when the fire was allegedly set, and the woman who pointed the finger at Yocum, is also the woman identified by witnesses saying dont take pictures and the woman in a photo seen throwing objects at a passing car . She was never searched by EPD. She could not provide a description of the lighter Yocum used and no lighter was found.
Based on information provided by Carly Garrett, a transient, in the Blue Heron building at the time the fire was allegedly set, Henley and others are being questioned in a follow up investigation. A search warrant was served this morning.
These points and Henley's residence was brought up in court by Deputy Public Defender Meagan O'Connell during cross examination. EPD never asked Henley whether Floyd Squires is her landlord.
