Justice for Josiah being held at the Arcata Plaza tonight?

Just heard a Justice for Josiah rally is being held at the Plaza. The DA is continuing the investigation, the Arcata Police Department is as well; so what is the point of this protest?

According to this link to a Times Standard video, it is a protest. The video must have been removed by TS so I am deleting the link. They declined to be filmed by another media outlet which I learned after TS had posted the video. I have not linked any other media video.

So very transparent of them isn't it? First Amendment and freedom of speech is something they don't have a clue about. Maybe, if they were getting an education, instead of protesting, they would learn to respect others' rights.

If they want Justice for Josiah, they should be marching to protest the fools who fueled the racial flames, gave inaccurate statements with no evidence to media, wouldnt testify or cooperate in giving answers in court and impeded life saving efforts by idiotic behavior.

Instead of encouraging people to come forward and speak to law enforcement, here is another useless step that will not bring Justice for Josiah.

    1. If there is some any evidence or truth or information to the statement you made above, can I ask why you have not contacted law enforcement? Are you afraid to?

    2. Add it up:
      1. josiah's facebook page shows he was racist & he enjoyed violent, racist behavior.
      2. josiah was a member of a racist 'black supremacy' group.
      3. josiah and his racist friends violently attacked people at the party... punching women, kicking their heads etc.
      4. it's hard to feel any sadness or sympathy when racist thugs get killed while engaging in their racist, violent escapades.
      5. my GUESS is that josiah was probably iced by one of his racist 'brothers', as they attempted to stab KZ.

And it's an opinion - based on public information and the evidence presented during testimony.

The police need to fingerprint the members of brothers united.

  2. There should be no gathering for either side of this mess. These types of things only lead to trouble. I am willing to wager that the people calling this "Justice for Josiah" tonight are the same people crying racism. They claim to be his friends but they have done nothing but hamper this case from the moment SH** went down at the party. What are they gong to do when the judge finds that there is absolutely not enough evidence to take the suspect to trial? RIOT?? We shall see what these "Club" is made of then wont we....

  4. These people need to grow the fuck up. Passing out flyers with Kyle's picture on it saying there's a murderer on the loose. Yes, there is but it's not Kyle. Interesting that no members of the BU were at this protest. Where's their poster boy, Elijah?

  5. I read an interesting account (a phrase I use in such situations where I can not in good conscience call it a "report", which would be based on facts) elsewhere online on the meeting of the Public Safety Group. A committee member who I believe also works for HSU. This person is ‎Director, Cultural Centers for Academic Excellence. This is what the position entails: https://chroniclevitae.com/jobs/0000919906-01
So having been entrusted with overseeing all this work, the person publically blames just about everyone and everything for not ensuring that proper sensitivity and concern prevent racial misunderstandings.
With decades of experience elsewhere, the account conveyed no exhortation to 'pour oil on troubled waters' to help bring understanding, rather, there are comments which almost seem like threats about people driving up to Humboldt and being tired and angry and wanting more answers from the police and district attorney's office and perhaps not being responsible for their actions.
I don't have any letters after my name so I can't claim to be highly educated but it seems to me that true leadership should help us find more productive ways to resolve conflicts, to demonstrate some spirit of compromise, to counsel against anger and hate as being self-destructive and to draw more upon the words and works of Dr Martin Luther King Jr than slogans of protestors.
Yes, protesting can have productive aspects but only if it's done in such a way that it encourages participation by outsiders rather than excluding them or trying to place blame on outsiders either as individuals or groups.
When I lose someone I respect, admire or love, even if there could be reason for anger, I try to honor their memory with supporting the best of them, their work, their joy, what they shared with others. When I'm hurting I need to draw on the good I found in that person. And so bear witness and continue to bear witness to them. I hope those who truly care about Josiah bear honest and true witness to his life.

  6. Everyone still has a right to free speech and freedom of assembly.

  7. That right comes with responsibility and following laws. It does not allow for you to deface public property, you do not get to spread libelous lies. You need to follow laws.

  8. After everything I have read everywhere since this happened never heard anyone calling it racism except the "brotherhood". There is a saying those that protest the most carry the most guilt. It is not unreasonable to question mr. Chandler as he has admitted he was there at his friends side immediately after this happened. I'm sure the intend of the "Brothers United" when they said there purpose was to help others achieve their goals they didn't mean this. I read that people were knocking kyle family "as a family of faith" well I'm afraid after everything we have read here southern ca want to question what kind of angle do you want us to think the victim was?
