People object to content of questionnaire submitted by defense in David Anderson case

 


Convicted human trafficker David Anderson jury trial was rescheduled for February 8. At trial assignment today, during the first call, Anderson's attorney, Mr Michael Acosta said there was no resolution and the jury trial was "a go." Defense had made another offer.

Westhaven suspect had an outstanding warrant and adds probation violation to his record

On Feb. 2, 2021, at about 10 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of S. Westhaven Drive in Westhaven for the report of a domestic disturbance with shots fired.

Peggy Esterly 's conviction for elder abuse includes jail, probation and restitution


On February 1, 2021, Judge Christopher Wilson sentenced 68-year-old Peggy Esterley to 364 days in jail and two years of probation for her conviction on six counts of theft of an elder/dependent adult with the special allegation of embezzlement over $500,000.

Convicted felon and frequently arrested Jeramiah Scott Fletcher arrested by HCSO yesterday for PC1203.2(a)(2) and PC29800(a).

HCSO says DOJ no longer seeking to extend monitoring period

I reported this weekend on a DOJ lawsuit against Humboldt County DHHS and it specifically named DHHS Director Connie Beck and Sheriff William Honsal in the lawsuit and proposed settlement.

HCSO issued a press release this morning. I saw Sheriff Honsal after this post. After the December DOJ press release, HCSO filed an opposition. Based on that DOJ is no longer seeking to extend the monitoring period for HCSO.
