They have been doing that for years. The local media has completely ignored the money received by incumbents for the 2024 primary election and the sources of those funds. They ignored Trevor Bohn's arrest. The list goes on.
They are not just deferential. They and their owners and publishers are sellouts. They have become tools for those in local power and throw out a bone here and there in a blue moon to their dwindling groupies. Their advertisers are good ole boys, they link good ole boys. The owners and publishers are a part of the good ole boys and gals, left, right and the faux "in the middle."
Only you and I have posted on any developments in the local judge's race. I posted on both the Rolling Stone and the DavisVanGuard article today. And about a last minute write in candidate.
It has been all day and the same local media has more staff and resources and they don't have to go out and work for their paycheck. Every other local media outlet has more than one person and they couldn't even do a short update on any of the regional or national coverage that the Judge Gregory Kreis scandal has received?
The Rolling Stone coverage may get other high profile national media to reconsider doing an article on Kreis. I did communicate with some correspondents right after the CJP press release.
The local media did their one obligatory report on the CJP press release and even that was hours later with some waiting days after I reported on it first. Still crickets from North Coast Journal but I expected that given Thad's chumminess with Paul Gallegos and many public defenders. NCJ was the only local media to completely ignore the Kailan Meserve case. If NCJ covers this, I guarantee it will be a packaged spin disguised as some exclusive news from Kreis, his attorney or all his buddies mentioned in the CJP document.
