John Chiv: Coley agrees to take antipsychotic medication and maximum confinement at State Hospital is 50 years to life

On, 2/27, at convicted murderer Jasen Coley's placement hearing, he agreed to take antipsychotic medication as part of his treatment. Coley is going to the State Hospital instead of prison and the maximum time of confinement is 50 years to life. This is after Judge Gregory Kreis' ruling that Coley is not guilty by reason of insanity.

Confirmation of transport and scheduling of review hearings is on calendar for 3/19/24. There can be several continuances for transport and I am not covering review dates after he is transported. I will add a final update when Coley was transported.

4/16: Court bailiff Leslie Borges told Judge Joyce Hinrichs today that Coley had been transported on April 11. Ms. Liana Rogers made a special appearance for Mr. Michael Robinson. Deputy DA Alex Grotewohl appeared on the case. Review hearing on 5/28/24.
