Disgraced Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Kreis lawyer is as stupid as his client. The AP article published by the U.S. News and World Report has no byline. I thought Mr. James Murphy was declining to comment to the press. That is based on what was stated by other regional and media covering the Kreis scsndal. Who knows when Murphy was interviewed but the US and World News report was posted online yesterday. All Murphy and Kreis' statements to press can be used as evidence.
The AP article summarized the allegations and unlike the North Coast Journal and Ferndale Enterprise got it right that it was former California governor Jerry Brown who appointed Kreis in 2017.
In previous coverage on my blog about Kreis which includes the Commission on Judicial Performance investigation and the Rory Kalin lawsuit, I have already addressed with court documents, observations from being in court backed by court documents and explained what a settlement means in a civil lawsuit.
Murphy, Kreis' attorney, is a moron to make a claim there are no factual allegations for Kalin's lawsuit and this claim about appropriate disclosures is a subjective statement. In cases where his conflicts of interests were brought up, was Kreis entirely truthful? I was in court for many cases including high profile cases, I heard what Kreis said and there are transcripts of these procedings.
Kreis has already been caught in a lie like his Instagram post and when he was served. Kreis did not disclose and misled people about his affair with Tanya Ellis. He allegedly misled Judge Joyce Hinrichs and former Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson. As for Kreis witnesses who will contradict the CJP allegations? Who? Kreis' co-defendants Luke Brownfield and Marek Reavis, his sycophants, his buddies, his endorsers? Every single one of them can be cross examined and will their credibility stand up? Every single one, their motives and what they gain can be questioned.
Most people who are well read and informed on local happenings, most locals who have the misfortune of dealing Kreis or Humboldt Superior Court know for themselves the character of the people involved. Kreis, Murphy and Kreis' enablers are doubling down because of arrogance. Let's see how many people stand by Kreis in the upcoming months. The longer Kreis drags this on; the more scrutiny on Humboldt Superior Court and everyone defending him.
