Brian Douglas Taylor was arrested yesterday by the Hoopa Tribal Police for PC 236 false imprisonment and PC 243(e)(1) domestic battery.
A search in Humboldt Superior Court shows 6 cases for Taylor including for this 2024 arrest. The DA filed charges for PC 273.5 (a) corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and PC 236 false imprisonment.
2/22: Arraigned, bail $75,000, Taylor served with protective order. OR/bail on 2/26; preliminary hearing on 3/5.
2/26: Supervised release granted by Judge Lawrence Killoran.
3/5: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 4/15.
4/15: Held to answer on all counts. Arraignment on information on 4/29.
4/29: Taylor was arraigned on information. Trial confirmation scheduled for 6/4; jury trial 6/17.
6/4: Attorneys confirm trial; people convey offer.
Trial assignment on 6/14 and jury trial on 6/17.
6/14: Failed to appear, bench warrant for $50,000 issued by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. 6/17 date vacated. Taylor booked into jail on 6/17 on the bench warrant. Trial confirmation on 8/1; jury trial 8/12.
8/1: A one year informal agreement reached. Jury trial scheduled for 8/12 vacated.
