Convicted molestor Darrel Tatro who pleaded guilty to distributing or showing porn to a minor and meeting a minor for lewd purposes and was sentenced last October is back in custody.
He should never had execution of his sentence suspended and he should have served jail time. He will face no consequences for this arrest and be let out on the streets again because that has been the track record for Humboldt Superior Court judges with those who get arrested for failure to register as a sex offender.
Tatro was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday for PC 1203.2 (a) probation violation and PC 290.018 (b) failure to register as a sex offender.
On 2/2, probation filed a petition in Tatro's 2022 case. Count 4 probation violation. Tatro was arraigned on that charge on 2/2. Bail was set at $35,000 and Tatro was remanded into custody. The Public Defender's office will continue representing Tatro. A referral was made to supervised release. OR/bail hearing is scheduled for 2/6; VOP revocation hearing on 2/27.
2/6: At OR/bail Tatro admitted he violated his probation, he was sentenced to 14 days in jail by Judge Lawrence Killoran and with custody credits applied, he was released from custody. The 2/27 date was vacated.
2/19: Tatro arrested by HCSO for PC 1203.2(a)(2) probation violation, HS 11364(a) possession of drug paraphernalia and HS11377(a) possession of meth. This is 13 days after he was sentenced for his 1/31 arrest and case.
5/1: Tatro booked into Humboldt County jail to serve time for probation violation, distributing or showing porn to a minor and meeting a minor for lewd purposes which were the charges he pleaded guilty to in his 2022 case.
