San Jose resident Blair Anderson Wortham was booked into custody by Arcata Police Department today for burglary, criminal threats and vandalism. EPD, HCSO and Cal Poly Humboldt police assisted APD in this incident. EPD arrested Wortham again on 2/20.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 5:20am, the Arcata Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 600 block of G Street. A male suspect had broken down the front door of the occupied home, forcing all occupants to flee. The suspect was behaving erratically, was breaking windows, and barricaded himself in an empty bedroom after responding officers made entry into the home.
With assistance from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office crisis negotiators and Eureka Police Department mental health clinician, we were able to bring the incident to a peaceful resolution at 11:12 a.m, when the suspect surrendered to APD officers inside the home.
38-year-old San Jose resident Blair Anderson Wortham was booked and lodged at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following felony charges:
· PC 459-Burglary
· PC 422-Criminal Threats
· PC 594-Vandalism
The Arcata Police Department extends their appreciation to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, the Eureka Police Department and Cal Poly Humboldt Police for their assistance with this incident.
2/20: Wortham was arrested by EPD today on charges for his 2024 case which are PC 69, PC 594(b)(1) vandalism, PC 422 criminal threats, PC459/461(a) burglary and new charges for PC 148 (a)(1) resisting arrest and PC 602(o) criminal trespassing.
2/8: CR2400447 arraigned on APD case, bail $90,000. OR bail on 2/13 continued to 2/14 supervised release granted, 2/21 preliminary hearing continued to 4/3 by defense.
2/22 : CR2400580 arraigned on EPD case, bail $5,000. OR bail on 2/26. The EPD case is also on calendar for 2/26. Trial confirmation on 3/13; jury trial on 3/18.
