Former Deputy DA and Kreis' friend endorses his challenger April Van Dyke

Former Humboldt Deputy DA and private attorney Allan Dollison is one of two latest endorsements for Humboldt Superior Court candidate, Ms. April Van Dyke.

The other endorsement is that is relevant to this week's breaking news is that Ms. Van Dyke has been endorsed by Megan Nims who is the HCSO animal control officer but also the wife of Deputy Public Defender David Nims. The CJP notice of formal proceedings and one of the 19 counts specifically mentions incumbent Judge Gregory Kreis socializing with the Nims.

I had a hunch. Now three people in the know have told me that they heard the Nims are separated and getting a divorce or already are. They are not together according to sources. Megan is using Mendivil on her Facebook profile. Court records confirm they filed for divorce.

This news isn't exactly a shocker. I briefly met them years ago through a mutual acquaintance and their pairing struck me as odd. I have had chance since then to observe them individually at the courthouse. Makes you wonder if Kreis and his partying pals partially contributed to the break up of yet another marriage and family.

All this nonsense about Ms. Van Dyke being anti law enforcement should be taken with a grain of salt. That kind of sleazy Salzman and Humboldt legal insider tactics is typical in Humboldt politics. If voters have those concerns, address them directly with her. Either you like what you hear or you do not. Last minute kitchen sink accusations a month before the election anonymously. Typical Humboldt. Regular people are using their names to comment.

Lawyers and other legal insiders hiding behind the screen because of personal biases. What you are seeing is a lot of misogyny and homophobia in anon comments and I know which ones are Humboldt legal insiders.  I already addressed the record of some of Kreis' law enforcement endorsers, their own records and conflicts of interest.

As for more options, you had two other potential candidates for judge who wanted to run and they could not due to valid personal and family reasons in this election. Both those candidates know more about the law than Kreis does in his pinky and if someone literally opened a law book and highlighted the law for him.

Others could have chosen to run but they did not because they were fearful of taking on a sitting judge and the Kreis machine. That is Humboldt's biggest problem. Fear from people who have the money and the power but are content to let others constantly risk it for the public good and their benefit. What is worse is most of these people won't even invest or support anyone who has the courage to speak up, run for office and take risks. Every day people have the power and the CJP notice of formal proceedings is proof.
