Brian Leiteritz's bail reduced to $135,000



Brian Leiteritz was supposed to be arraigned on information this morning. At his attorney's request,it was continued to October 9 "for entry of plea and time waiver." Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward had no objection.

Mr. Michael Robinson asked Judge Kaleb Cockrum to set bail according to schedule for Count 1. Leiteritz was not held to answer on the murder charge and in Count 1, he is charged with voluntary manslaughter. Judge Cockrum granted that request. Bail for Leiteritz is now $135,000.

For Count 1, Leiteritz is looking at 12 years. Count 2 is a lesser offense and involves the same conduct and so bail is not stackable.
