Preliminary hearing for convicted sex offender postponed

Intervention was continued to February 11 for Justin Strauhal. Defense had filed a motion to continue. That motion was granted.  Intervention is scheduled for April 15. Preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 17.

Discovery was provided to defense this afternoon but Deputy Public Defender David Celli who is representing Strauhal needs time to review discovery with Strauhal.

The preliminary hearing scheduled for February 13 was vacated. Motion to compel discovery scheduled for February 14 was also vacated. Strauhal entered a 60 day time waiver today. He kept saying "okay", " okay" when Mr. Celli was speaking with him. Strauhal has shaved his locks for a buzz cut.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer was in  court for intervention.
