"I don't care anymore. I don't know why I protected him. He fucking raped me."

The last witness on day 1 of Chad Smith's preliminary hearing on alleged sexual abuse was his wife Amy Smith. Chad and Amy Smith also have a family law case for divorce and custody of a minor child.


She detailed the mental, emotional and physical abuse she endured in her marriage to Chad Smith, how he alienated her from her own daughter, how he isolated her daughter from everyone but himself, and the journey to regain her daughter's trust and get her daughter help.

Amy Smith said, it went from her daughter not wanting to be touched to now always wanting to be by her side now. "I felt like I got my daughter back."

Amy Smith said Jane Doe #1 told her, "I don't care anymore. I don't know why I protected him. He fucking raped me."

She corroborated Jane Doe #1's testimony, providing some more details.

Amy Smith said that her daughter told her "he forced her to give him oral sex on a regular basis."

Amy Smith will take the stand again, this morning for cross examination and/or redirect. If there is any update, it will be in this post.
