On April 13, 2017, at about 8:14 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department received information from the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office that Alvin Wingo was sitting inside a parked Chevrolet in the Bayshore Mall parking lot on the 3300 block of Broadway. Wingo was on the HCSO Most Wanted list for felony warrants and was reportedly armed with a firearm.
When officers arrived on scene, the Chevrolet was unoccupied. Officers watched from a distance until Wingo and two others entered the Chevrolet and began driving through the parking lot.
Officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle in a parking lot on the 3400 block of Broadway. Wingo was taken into custody and the two other occupants were detained and released. Inside the Chevrolet, officers located a loaded .45 caliber pistol where Wingo had been sitting and a box of ammunition in the rear of the vehicle.
Wingo was arrested on felony warrant charges for domestic violence, false imprisonment, and criminal threats and fresh charges for felon in possession of a firearm and probation violation. Wingo was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility with bail set at $300,000.
