House vacant, Arcata fire says too unsafe to finish mopping, possible drug house per HCSO
Arcata Fire District update:
#UPDATE: Per Incident Commander: "Conditions too unsafe to finish mopping up. Will continue to smolder and E8217 and B8201 will monitor throughout night. No threat to extend to wildland or other homes in area. House was reported as vacant. Possible drug house per HCSO."
#UPDATE: Fire is under control. Units will stay at scene to mop-up for approximately 1 more hour.
Arcata Fire District would like to thank the following mutual and auto-aid agencies for their help with this incident.
E1264 from the CAL FIRE Trinidad Station and a Water Tender from Fieldbrook Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of the fire to assist Arcata Fire District units.
Fieldbrook Volunteer Fire Department sent an Engine to cover McKinleyville Station, while Humboldt Bay Fire sent an Engine and a Battalion Chief to cover Arcata Station.
All of these agencies are dedicated to your safety. Thank you for your support.

Arcata Fire District Units are at scene of a working structure fire on Dows Prairie Road cross of Grange Road in Northern McKinleyville. Please stay clear of the area as multiple fire apparatus' are approaching the scene.
