EPD identified & arrested the face-planting Lollipop Bandit tonight. Suspect is David Aumiller. More to follow in a press release tomorrow.
According to internet search, David Aumiller was arrested by HCSO and booked on August 28.

On December 26, 2016, at about 4:57 p.m., two handguns were stolen from a sporting goods store on the 3600 block of Broadway. The male suspect was last seen running east on Allard Avenue. The suspect was described as a white male, thin build, wearing a red hat.
On December 27, 2016, at about 4:36 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a residence on the 2400 block of Garland Street for the report of an ex-roommate forcing entry into the residence. Officers made contact with the ex-roommate, David Aumiller, 34 of Missouri. During their investigation, officers located one of the two stolen handguns in Aumiller's backpack. The second stolen handgun has not been recovered at this time.
Aumiller was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for trespassing, possession of burglary tools, felon in possession of a firearm, burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to call the Eureka Police Department.

On December 26, 2016, at about 4:57 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to a sporting goods store on the 3600 block of Broadway for the report of a theft of two handguns.
Based on employee statements and surveillance, it appears the male suspect loitered inside the business before talking to employees about two handguns. While holding the handguns, the male suspect quickly fled out of the business. The male was last seen running east on Allard Avenue from Broadway.
