Clutching a teddy bear, Chad Smith's step daughter testifies about alleged sexual abuse over years, at home, at his business, in area hotels

Clutching a teddy bear, Chad Smith's stepdaughter ( who looks a lot younger than her present age of fifteen years) walked into the courtroom, accompanied by a DA Victim Witness Representative and DA Investigator Kyla Baxley.

Jane Doe #1 was very calm, called the defendant "Mr. Smith" and did not look at him except to identify him in court. Smith just stared at her throughout her testimony.

Jane Doe # 1 was a very credible witness, answering questions from Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads without hesitation and many specifics.

For an hour and 20 minutes, family members, supporters, court staff, family members ( TS , LOCO and I) heard this young girl testify about the alleged sexual abuse she endured from a man she trusted and loved.

The alleged acts occurred at two houses, Smith's former business, Surfside Burger Shack, hotels as well as his new home. They started at age 10 and continued until age 14.

The frequent sexual acts involved finger penetration, penis and vagina sex, anal sex, oral sex and sexually suggestive nicknames.

At the end of this morning's testimony, Jane Doe sais she was scared about testifying, "because I don't want to say this stuff happened to me, because I wish it never happened to me."

Smith told Jane Doe not to tell anyone about the abuse because then her brothers would not have a father anymore and Smith said he would kill himself.

  2. Thanks, John, for the info.

I always knew that something wasn't right about Chad but am surprised to learn that this was it. I hope the evil bastard never sees the light of day again. Kudos to Jane Doe #1 for having the courage to do the right thing and testify against him. I feel very sorry for her and the rest of the family. How a guy could put his own family through this is unfathomable. The fact that he's not pleading guilty when he knows he's busted and is therefore choosing to perpetuate the nightmare by making her testify just adds insult to injury. He deserves the worst punishment legally possible. What a despicable excuse for a human...

  3. Chad, if you don't want your kids to grow up without a father then don't commit multiple serious felonies. How dare you put that guilt that on your young victim. You are the one and only one responsible for all of this. She gets my utmost respect for having the courage to stand up to you. You deserve another charge for making that threat. It's psychological terrorism as far as I'm concerned.

Somebody please put this guy on suicide watch so he can't take the easy way out. He needs suffer for what he has done to this poor girl and the rest of his children.
