Setting of preliminary hearing for assault suspect Aaron Hooven was not continued this morning but will intervention on September 9 and preliminary hearing on September 18 actually proceed as scheduled? I had dubbed this "the case of perpetual continuance."

USGS downgrades another earthquake near Ridgecrest to a magnitude of 6.9. Initial report was 7.1. Reports vary on what magnitude they are reporting. Later, it was upgraded back to 7.1.

Fifth time a warrant has been served on this Rancho Sequoia parcel but no arrests?
On July 3, 2019, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) served one search warrant to investigate illegal cannabis cultivation in the Rancho Sequoia area of Southern Humboldt County.
EPD and Sgt. Crinch at AA check cashing on 5th street
Sgt. Cory Crinch just drove away with a recruit he is training in his patrol vehicle. The recruit starts Academy next week. Another EPD officer was leaving the scene. A few minutes earlier, there was a woman outside the business. EPD PIO Brittany Powell said, "EPD responded for a report of a female laying partially in the road. She was sent on her way. "
A four year stipulated prison sentence but he has almost 2 years of custody credits
Carjacking suspect Nicholas Savieo was sentenced this morning to the stipulated term of four years in prison. He pleaded guilty on June 6. Savieo's total credits for being in custody in Humboldt are 673 days. That is almost two years.
Jonathan Boone's bail for recent arrest is $500,000, however he is not eligible for bail on his probation case
Jonathan Boone charges include attempted murder, elder abuse and battery. Bail for this recent arrest at booking is $500,000, however on his alleged violation of probation case , he is not eligible for bail.
