Jake Combs was transferred from and booked in the Humboldt County jail in his murder case. The Apellate Court ruled that Judge Kaleb Cockrum "erred"in his trial. The Humboldt County DA has asked the California Attorney General to appeal the decision. The Attorney General's petition for rehearing filed on May 20, 2025 was denied. On 7/7, a remittitur was issued. Case complete. The case has been sent back to Humboldt Superior Court.
On 7/25, there is a hearing which e court lists as "on remittitur after appeal." Trial confirmation on 8/7; jury trial on 8/18.
This is Judge Kaleb Cockrum's order for Combs to be transported to Humboldt Superior Court for the July 25 hearing.
Most of you read my May 8 post which has information about the apellate ruling.
