Very troubling allegations made by Raymond Bacon and his partner against each other, who is protecting the children?

I reported on April 8 that 47 year old Raymond Bacon was arrested by Eureka Police Department. He is Yurok Tribe's Economic Development Corporation's executive director. According to his Linkedin profile, he previously worked at Cher Ae Heights Casino. His Facebook profile says he is the former Chairman of the Yurok Tribal Gaming Commission. Bacon was booked for PC273(a)(b) willful child endangerment, PC 236 false imprisonment and PC 273.5 (a) corporal injury to a spouse  or cohabitant.

I looked up court records from Humboldt Superior Court on Bacon. The restraining order confirms a tip I received that Bacon was arrested after the restraining order was granted. As I reported in previous coverage, Yurok Tribe Councilmember Sherri Provolt is Bacon's boss. I have also reported on her son John Provolt's indecent exposure case for an alleged incident at Good Relations in Eureka.

I received tips from three different people about Bacon. One was on April 8 and one on April 16. You can compare the information from these tips to the court order. There are several tribal court documents that I have obtained but not been able to look at without being rushed and I have to see what I can add and if there are any duplicates. Some I  cannot read, others I have to go through a lot of effort to view.  CAST information is confidential and that documentation may not exist according to my first tipster.

Regarding Bacon, the first tipster said, "One of his daughters had a cast due to him molesting them and it was positive. There were six victims total, when the mom went to sherry to ask for help, in order for him not to hurt them anymore. She lied, said yes, went to Humboldt county court, couldn't get custody so took it to tribal. Now he has full custody... except one that lives in a safe house. She covered it up and put him through tribal court. I know his family, his side, she is a crazy drug addict, she obtained a restraining order on Friday, he left town and took their kid, they live together, her family is verrrry rich. He is stating she was on drugs, but he always leaves the young girl with her, living in his house, odd he leaves town when she gets a restraining order."

The second tipster said, "The arresting officer took pictures of her wounds of victim prior to arresting Bacon. Raymond's Domestic partner of 8 years is in hiding due to his controlling, tracking, and abusive tendencies. She is terrified that the tribal court will protect their own. Raymond filed for TRO that was granted and served that included custody of their daughter. The extended TRO from the victim is still trying to get served by HCSO, which grants her custody of their daughter also. Two court dates pending, Tribal court date 5/3/24, County court date 5/6/24. According to EPD the County filed TRO is the one that will be enforced. The Tribal Court judicial officer granting the TRO was signed by a Willie Bauer.."

As you can see from the court documents I have provided from Humboldt Superior Court, there is a hearing on 5/6/24. According to the second tipster Child Protective Services is involved. As of April 20, DA had not received a police report according to the second tipster. I checked e court on 4/26/24 and 4/29 and no criminal charges had been filed by the DA. Status of charges is "pending."

Mr. Michael Robinson will be representing Bacon in any criminal matter. Mr. Dustin Owens is representing Bacon in Yurok Tribal court.

Just recently, I was able to confirm from a third source that in addition to the Humboldt family law case, there is a tribal court case and the two courts have to work certain things out.

That person confirmed what the first tipster said about Bacon's significant other's alleged drug abuse that will most likely be brought up my Bacon.

I have worked for CWS, I have covered Humboldt courts and we all know how Humboldt justice is impacted by power, money and connections. I have seen children from tribes let down by the social service and court system. I do not know either Bacon or his domestic partner. I can only hope for the sake of the child that there is no cover up and the tribe is not using their influence to transfer this to tribal court which will hinder access to records and information.

Redacted version to protect identity of minor child mentioned in court documents.

I cannot cover tribal court for many reasons and it is getting cumbersome covering Humboldt and other news. I do not follow family law cases unless there is a restraining order or some relevance to a criminal case or other news. If the DA files criminal charges and if the Humboldt restraining order and family law case in Humboldt courts remains active, I will follow the case and provide future updates.
