Jonathan Pulse arrested on two child molestation charges



Jonathan Harley Pulse was booked into jail yesterday on an arrest warrant for PC 288(a) lewd or lascivious act with a minor, and PC 288.7(b) sexual intercourse or penetration, sodomy, or oral copulation with a child under the age of 10.

There was a complaint filed 3/24/23 and an arrest warrant issued on the same date. Arraignment is on 6/5.







6/5: At arraignment, bail $750,000. Conflict Counsel appointed All disclosures under 1054 all CAST interviews, videos, photos to be provided to defense. Preliminary hearing 6/15.

6/14: Conflict Counsel motion to continue granted because Pulse's attorney is not available. 6/15 date vacated. Preliminary hearing continued to 7/17.

7/17: Motion to continue by defense granted. Preliminary rescheduled to 7/27.

7/27: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 10/31. Judge Christopher Wilson granted the request over Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal's objection.

9/21: After preliminary hearing, Pulse held to answer.



10/5: Pulse was arraigned on the same two counts. Time was waived.  Trial confirmation was on 2/20/24; jury trial is on 3/4/24.

2/20: Trial confirmation continued to 2/26 at defense request to allow time to meet with Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer.

2/26: Defense request for continuance granted. 3/4 date vacated. Trial confirmation on 6/24; jury trial on 7/8.

6/24: Trial confirmation continued to 6/27 by defense; attempting to resolve case.

6/27: Assigned DA out of office; negotiations to resolve still ongoing. 7/8 date vacated. Trial setting on 8/15.


8/15: Trial confirmation on 9/24; jury trial on 10/7.

9/24: Trial confirmation continued to 9/26 for possible change of plea.
