Matthew Salmon was arrested for attempted murder of his wife

 

I did a post on December 20 about Matthew Salmon being arrested by Eureka Police Department for attempted murder. Salmon posted bond.

I am still checking to see if this arrest is for the same Matthew Salmon who was a 2007 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School and attended College of the Redwoods. That Matthew Salmon is a firefighter employed by the U.S. Forest Service. The age matches. 

I asked EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell for more information about the arrest.

"On December 19, 2022, at about 4:30 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to an apartment at the 900 block of I Street to assist Humboldt Bay Fire and City Ambulance with a medical aid that appeared to be caused by an assault.  The 39 year old female patient was found alone in the apartment and was suffering from several cut and stab wounds.  The female was transported to the hospital by ambulance in serious but stable condition."

"Based on statements made by the female during the initial investigation, her husband, 33 year old Matthew Salmon, was arrested later that evening for attempted murder. "
