I did a post a month ago about Eureka Police officers out near the future site of the Mother Bernard house. The guy they were looking for was actually hiding out at the Royal Inn on 5th street in Eureka.
Since November, I have done some research and follow up. Concerned citizens who live in the neighborhood have called and reported about trespassers across the street at the Royal Inn.
I was there when EPD was in the area in November and again today. I walked by today before EPD arrived and heard why EPD was called The problem is actually at the boarded up Royal Inn. Last time EPD was looking for a guy with a gun who was holed up at the Royal Inn. That guy is back and allegedly burrowed a hole to get back into the property. I heard him tell property owner representatives that other people had jumped the fence and were sleeping at the property. EPD Officer Swanson is at the scene.
Fences and boarded up properties are not keeping trespassers out. EPD has their hands full.
