Elvine-Kreis should never have been assigned the Meserve habeas corpus hearing

Convicted rapist Kailan Meserve's habeas corpus hearing had been assigned to Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis at trial assignment on 12/15/22. It did start on December 19 as scheduled but as court minutes indicates it proceeded with Judge Kaleb Cockrum hearing the matter.

The three day hearing was interrupted and continued by stipulation due to the earthquake emergency.

Confirmation of habeas corpus hearing is scheduled for 3/6/23 and the hearing is expected to resume on 3/13/23.

If you read this blog regularly or an insider in the Humboldt Superior Court system, you need no explaination about the title of the post. The rest can google my coverage or use the search feature on this blog and read excludive and detailed posts on Elvine-Kreis especially the on the Rory Kalin lawsuit.

3/6: Habeas corpus hearing confirmed for 3/13.
