Contrary to reports elsewhere, EPD was not on scene at the Crane street incident last night

I emailed Eureka Police Department as well as HCSO this morning to inquire about last night's incident.

EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell told me, "This incident occurred in the County jurisdiction of Eureka.  EPD was not on scene. "

HCSO is the lead agency. I reported on Rusell Albers who was arrested in October 2022 by HCSO for domestic battery. He is the suspect wanted for double homicide in the Crane Street incident.

Prior to the October 2022 arrest and this December 2022 arrest warrant, Albers has four cases in the Humboldt Superior Court system including two convictions in a 2004 and 2009 case.

Not the first time Todd has had incorrect information. Nor is the first time there has been incorrect information on RHBB. Times Standard. These local outlets make errors on a regular basis and are given a pass by many locals and their advertisers.

Attempting live reports or just posting a ton of stuff  is useless if it is inaccurate, especially when the misinformation is then spread by some local readers and certain groupies of these outlets who cannot be bothered to check other sources for facts.

LOCO still has not fixed this incorrect headline. The press release stated 2016. One of their commenters pointed out the error on Friday.

Credits for Xavier Ruiz-Keyes sentence were incorrect in LOCO's post. That is just a recent example. There have other such errors including Marci Kitchen that I have pointed out before.
