Jane Doe #1's mother admits that she knew about Jane Doe # 2's past allegations regarding " Mario"

Shannon Borba, Jane Doe's mother, was the second witness in the Mario Alexander case. She is also subject to recall.

During questioning by Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads, she said that she and her daughter moved from Humboldt County in 2016. She said that initially both Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2 went to Jefferson, then Jane Doe #1 changed schools. She worked from 11 a.m. to 8:15 and Alexanders helped her.

She ssid that since Julianna Alexander worked as a housekeeper, sometimes Mario Alexander picked Jane Doe #1 up from school.

In March 2016, Borba said her daughter stopped wanting to go over to the Alexander home and started making "little excuses".

"On April 18, 2016, what happened that morning " asked Ms. Eads.

"Mom, can I please not go over there after school," said Borba. "I told her, you know I have to work. She started crying. She got up and shut the door and told me that Mario had touched her butt and she didn't feel comfortable there anymore. She was very fidgety and seemed nervous to tell me."

Borba said she asked her daughter more questions, "I just hugged her and said okay."

"I called off work," said Borba. "Initially, I called Julianna and told her what my daughter had told me and I was going to call the police and file a report because it was not right."

After the April 22, 2016 CAST interview Borba learned more details about what her daughter had been through. " She told them more than what she told me."

"Mario and I were friends. I didn't have any family up here. This was a shock to me."

During cross examination, Borba said that her daughter stayed overnight at the Alexanders "at least two to three times a month."

Borba said the excuses her daughter gave for not wanting to go over to the Alexander home were "food, chores and discipline."

Borba said she was aware that Jane Doe #2 had made alkegations about "Mario" in the past but Juliana Alexander told her that Jane Doe #2 had recanted those claims and the reason Julianna Alexander gave her was "issues Jane Doe #2 had with her birth father."
