Democrats have a veto-proof majority in both chambers of the California legislature


California Democrats have a two-thirds advantage in the 40-person Senate and in the 80-person Assembly after the recent election.

  1. Oh thank goodness, now they'll protect us from the the evil Republicans try to lower taxes. Please!, save us with a 70% income tax and make us full a blow Socialize Dictatorship. It's a shared expense you know....so it like, free....right?

    1. Rusty, that is what happens when some local Republicans tell me that they and their friends are not going to vote for John Cox because 1. He is not a true conservative 2. Gavin Newsom is going to win anyway so why vote for John Cox. The local GOP, the state GOP and nationally the GOP should look at why more and more people are leaving and registering as independent. I switched back. Having 16 term and extremist candidates like Dana Rohrabacher is one reason.

      Humboldt has a lot of faux conservatives and they do not support that few that speak up or are involved.
