OR/Bail hearing for alleged child molestor Michael Thomas Franco was scheduled for this afternoon. Conflict Counsel's office declared a conflict. Public Defender's office has been appointed. They will check to see if they have a conflict and confirm if they can represent Franco on May 24.
Bail at booking was set at 1 million. At arraignment, Deputy Conflict Counsel Joe Judge claimed the amount was excessive. He also said that a private attorney, most likely Mr. Russ Clanton would take over the case. That did not happen today. The two women present at Franco's arraignment were there today.
Members of the North Coast Rape Crisis and DA CAST investigator Kyla Baxley team attended today's court hearing. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case.
