Squinting, making wierd faces,Michael Thomas Franco and family get admonished by bailiff in court

Before his case was called, Michael Thomas Franco kept squinting, making wierd faces and communicating with two women in the audience. They bear a resemblance to him.

Franco showed no shame; he and his family members were quite defiant in their demeanor to the bailiff.

The bailiff had to admonish them. After his case was called, when Judge John Feeney asked if he needed the court to appoint a lawyer, Franco said that his family had contacted an attorney and an investigator from that office had met with him.

For now, the Conflict Counsel's office was appointed for Franco.

Deputy Conflict Counsel Joe Judge entered not guilty pleas on Franco's behalf. Time was not waived. Mr. Judge said that by the next court hearing, "Mr. Russ Clanton msybe the attorney of record." Mr. Judge also said that the bail.of $1 million dollars "was excessive."

An OR /Bail hearing is set for May 23 at 2 p.m. Intervention is scheduled for May 31 at 1:30 p.m. Preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 4 at 9:15 a.m.

  1. He's looking at multiple indeterminate terms, so a million seems right.
