Latest update: Both children are with law enforcement now. Suspect is 46 year old Stephen Houk. Manhunt is underway for Houk.
Houk is a registered sex offender. He is a parolee from Oregon and has been convicted of sex with a child under 14.

Update : Around 6:15 p.m. the RV stopped on a dead-end rural road in Shafter. The suspect later fled on foot into a nearby field.
An armed parole led police on a chase with his two children inside the motorhome.
Law enforcement received a domestic violence call earlier today. The suspect's wife has tried to persuade the man to pull over.
"The man, whose identity was not immediately available, drove the RV north on the Golden State Freeway through Santa Clarita about 55 mph with police cars trailing behind. The RV was a Dolphin 2740, complete with bicycles clamped on the back.
The man was first reported to authorities to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Santa Clarita Station around 9:30 a.m. The initial call involved "criminal threats."
