On the morning of May 10, there was a hearing scheduled to review in camera documents and modify the gag order in former correctional deputy Cory Fisher.
Those documents pertain to a public records request I made about pending litigation against the County by four inmates. The link below and a previous post explains in detail why the Fisher case is involved.
"The first issue I have is that my office was not served with the motion," said Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O' Connell who appeared with Fisher in court this morning. "It might have been served at the Public Defender's office."
Deputy County Counsel Natalie Duke, who appeared on behalf of HCSO acknowledged the error and said they did serve the Public Defender. Fisher was represented by the Public Defender's office, initially.
Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads did submit to the court's decision. She has not seen the documents and her only concern was if the documents had any issues pertaining to the victims.
The in camera review was continued to May 18 for Judge Dale Reinholtsen to review the records to make a ruling. The documents were provided to Judge Reinholtsen by Deputy County Counsel Natalie Duke in court today.
Intervention for was scheduled in the afternoon for May 8. It was continued to May 10 at 1:30 since Fisher's attorney was out sick. It was continued to May 14 at 1:30 since Deputy Conflict Counsel Joe Judge still not back in the office.
Fisher's preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 24.
