Criminal proceedings suspended in yet another local court case; this time for Wesley Starritt



Trial confirmation for Wesley Starritt was scheduled for May 2. Criminal proceedings were suspended in Starritt's case today after doubt was declared about his competency to stand trial.



Jury trial scheduled for May 14 was vacated. Status of Dr. Ramirez's evaluation of Starritt is scheduled forMay 23.

Count 1 is assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Special allegation for Count 1 is inflicting great bodily injury.

Alleged victim is Peter Ian Marks.

At the lt hearing, defense indicated that the case should resolve.

Deputy District Attorney Brent Kling is prosecuting this case. Deputy Public Defender Luke Brownfield is representing Starritt.
