Coroner needs help from the public identifying male body found on Centerville Beach



Humboldt County Coroner’s Office needs the public’s help to identify a male body discovered in late February on Centerville Beach.



Efforts to identify the body have so far been unsuccessful. The body was found wearing a black shirt with the following words printed in white: “HumboldtANARCHO, STATE FREE- HATE FREE – FIGHT BIGOTRY”.

Previous Media Release ( 2/27/2018):

This afternoon, the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office completed the autopsy of the body discovered on Centerville Beach Feb. 24, 2018.

This autopsy revealed that the body is of a male. Preliminary results indicate a cause of death consistent with drowning.
This death remains under investigation.

On 2/24/18 at approximately 2:35 pm, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the report of a dead body on Centerville Beach. Deputies arrived on scene and located a severely decomposed body approximately one quarter of a mile from the mouth of the Eel River. The Coroner’s Office arrived on scene and the body was retrieved. This investigation is currently ongoing.
