HSU incoming freshmen class 40% from LA, 52% low income

Humboldt State is getting ready to welcome back students for the Fall Semester. August 21 is the first day of classes. 

The expected incoming freshmen class is 1,188 students, and initial demographic data shows that 40 percent hail from Los Angeles, 52 percent are low-income and 59 percent are first-generation students.

  1. Yep, the ole government cash cow scenario catering to the poor/low class LA's (brothers united???). The state gives the HSU money to jack up their salaries and HSU gets to look like the compassionate embracer of society. LA's is the money tree and the golden egg of prosperity. You haven't done any good for the community at all HSU!!!!!!

  2. HSU is continuing the trend of dumbing down their curriculum (is it even high school level anymore?!?) to make sure the first time college attendees will actually be able to graduate. Pathetic!

  3. When they graduate, after factoring in student loans, what percentage will be even lower income due to their inability to obtain decent paying jobs with their piece of paper?
