"Fuck you, Fuck the police", feces, trash and screaming in Old Town ; naked man fighting APD at Shell Gas station, drunk and belligerent oblivious to being filmed

Daily occurrence in Old Town, especially on 2nd and Third Streets.

For half an hour, this guy has been going up and down the streets, yelling "Fuck yeah, Fuck you B####h, Fuck the police" and other gibberish.

This is actually early for him. Usually, it  is in the middle of the night or early a.m. If it isn't him, there is a woman with similar language and behavior.

This are just two of half a dozen "regulars" in Old Town.

Before all you bleeding hearts start claiming mental illness, both these are frequent drunks or high on something. They don't respond to verbal commands, they run and bang on random doors.

Then there are others, defecating and pissing and throwing trash in the "Indigenous" garden that Monte, son of Xandra Manns, "Keep Eureka the beautiful" ,will not maintain on Second Street between H and I.  I have written about this three times on my blog.

(Just two of the pictures I sent to City of Eureka)

Area businesses and residents, including me, call the City. Not only does Monte do nothing, he calls the City of Eureka to complain when the city workers do show up to prune overhanging branches that could fall on cars. The City hired a private company to seal the parking lot. It took them a day and a half to weed and sweep and clean first. Stuff, Monte claims he will do but doesn't.

Monte came once, after repeated complaints, swept one area where the transients camp because they can hide in the overgrown foliage and dumped the trash, did not even put it in a garbage bag, in front of a nearby business.

Monte, you don't own the City of Eureka; the taxpayers and citizens do. You don't get to dictate that this hazard not be cut down. Purchase your own land and grow your own garden. Female employees working in the area and others don't feel safe. EPD has come to patrol, given warnings, these bums come back. Tourists, out of town visitors have come up to me walking in Old Town asking me if this is normal here, because they feel unsafe with these bums hanging out on benches, yelling at them, panhandling. Same with the boardwalk.

Think this does not affect tourism? Or people wanting to move here?

Monte, since you refuse to the let the City do their job, even after at least three documented complaints, if anyone gets robbed, raped or hurt, you should be sued.

Then, I have this video someone sent me last Wednesday. A completely naked guy sitting at the corner of 14th and G at the Shell Gas station in Arcata in broad daylight.

Can't post the video due to Blogger anfd Facebook guidelines because it is 10 minutes long. The guy's butt is exposed and for a few seconds, after people filming him asking him to, he turns around and flashes them. Initally, he appears to be arguing with a fellow transient, yelling at trucks and cars, "this is boring" and blowing smoke.

You can hear people saying this has been going on for two days, the police don't do anything. That does not seem to be true. Seven minutes and 41 seconds into the video, two APD officers show up and then two more. Takes three of them to restrain him, try and get him to put clothes on. He doesn't. They have to pick up his filthy clothes, bottles and trash strewn on all over the sidewalk and detain him. He apparently peed on the sidewalk before they arrived and this video was filmed.

Law enforcement are not social workers and this is a waste of time when they are needed to respond to crimes.

This is the fault of progressive Eureka City Council members and an ultra liberal Arcata City Council. It has become increasingly worse in Eureka for the last two years.

Do your job for tax paying citizens who do not break the law and who do not cause environmental hazards instead of passing sanctuary city resolutions and, advocating for safe injection sites. Harm Reduction staff can get jobs to fund their cause or collect donations. Humboldt is a magnet for bums, addicts and anyone who can't get a real job but starts a non profit, then wants taxpayers to fund it.

Rescue Mission and Teen Challenge are way more effective and they are self sufficient.

  1. Check out the growing mound of human
excrement to right of the western entrance of the EDD building, left nightly by the heroin addicts who sleep on the front porch. Vomit and feces are also at the North side entrance . Mosey over to the City Hall find the same thing. This is not just an old town issue this is an issue Citywide. Discarded needles and feces are in the Landscapes of every building in Eureka, in Humboldt County for that matter. Every fleabag Inn hotel in Eureka is surrounded by feces and vomit spilling over to the neighborhoods next to them. The entire area encompassing 4th and 5th Streets at Samoa Bridge intersections is especially revolting, just go walk around that area you'll see it and smell it for yourself it's revolting. This is going on 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Here's your chance Humboldt Baykeeper, North Coast Environmental Center, Epic. Major Deep Pockets to sue, when it rains all that s*** runs down the pipes to the Bay. This isn't cows and wild life standing in the creek like Clam Beach, this is disease spreading human feces, Typhoid anyone? Kind of makes you hungry for some Humboldt Bay oysters doesn't it. Rescue Mission is just more enabling of the bums and addicts. Hey Food for People, if feed them provide some facilities, if you provide the food you should provide the place to put the waist and I mean the human waste not the food waste. Teen Challenge is just another nonprofit funding its administrative payroll doing shoddy work and stealing jobs from local companies like tree services, roofing companies, landscapers and janitorial companies. No licenses, no insurance no problems. Not many teens being challenged.

  2. These individuals move in and screw life up for the people that live there, and nothing is done???
Think about this, where did they come from, and why! Why make it attractive and convenient for this "element" to exist???
Let's go to the extreme here, if you have a cancer, what do you do?
You first stop the activity that caused it, you then CUT IT OUT AND GET RID OF IT!
I am sick and tired of the lame duck pussyfooting,PC crowd, "oh, they have to crap somewhere, oh they need a safe space to shoot up, oh let's give them shipping containers to live in, oh let legalize drugs" idiots that have RUINED the area. Lest we forget about the save the trees nutjobs that silenced the timber industry, the good folks that shut down the fishing industry, and the ones that had the forethought to scream to high hell about ANY company that considered bringing any manufacturing opportunities into the area that would have provided long term JOBS!
Time for Eureka's resident's, the tax payers, to TAKE THE CITY (and county) BACK!!!
First step, get rid of the city council and get people that know what the hell they are doing, and need to do, in place.
Second, get the crap out of the county, and send them packing to some other place. San-Francisco is a good place, or how about the middle of Death Valley.
Third, make the area industry friendly, and stop vetoing proposals that inhibit growth. Tourist (as termed, soft industry) industry is not enough to support the population base, and only supplies minimal, seasonal income for established businesses.
Fourth, get rid of the pot culture. In just a short time, look at what it has caused. It was a mistake from the start.
Fifth, clean up what's left, and take control of the housing market. Eureka homes are twice the price of other areas of the country, other areas that have viable job markets. Eureka has no jobs, no financial support, and yet is more expensive to live in or buy a home in then Orlando, Florida!
GET RID OF THE CRAP THAT IS DRAGGING THE CITY AND COUNTY DOWN, BUILD UP AN INDUSTRIAL BASE, AND THE AREA WILL THRIVE!
Rant is over. Time to go to work.
    Have a nice day.

  3. I recently had relieves visiting from Washington, they were scared of all the bums and junkies everywhere and they live near Aberdeen. They said it seemed much worse than 2 years ago when they visited. It embarrassing to say I'm from Humboldt county. Sad
