Shame on all who misled, not stated facts, and are using the Indian Island massacre for political gain

No one condones the Indian Island massacare but all you outraged people go off on a tangent instead of listening to the entire interview.

Most people, including me, were happy about the City of Eureka's decision to return this land to the Wiyot Tribe.

Arson being investigated as possible cause of Willow Creek residential fire

HCSO just released pictures at 3 p.m.

At approximately 0400 hours on 08/04/2017, a residential fire was reported in the Willow Creek area. 

The structural fire was located near the intersection of Bigfoot and Sunset roads. The fire involved a single residence which was totally involved and destroyed.

Derrick Toste, a 46-year-old Eureka resident, pled guilty yesterday to four misdemeanor charges under the California Fish and Game Code: spotlighting deer, possessing a loaded rifle inside a vehicle, taking deer without a license, and littering within 150-feet of a state waterway.

Three arrests in alleged illegal grow bust in Burr and Larabee Valley

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a three day operation and served six search warrants in the areas of Burr Valley and Larabee Valley this week to investigate allegations of illegal cultivation of marijuana.

Defense 995 motion in Mario Nunez case denied, both murder count and special allegation



Visiting Judge Robert Crone ruled today to deny the defense motion in Mario Nunez's case.

Judge Crone said that the Court agreed that the standard to rule on such motion was the same standard put forth by the People in their response to the 995 motion. Judge Crone cited the specific page and lines.

Tempe based cannabis company buys entire town in CA

EPD checks out report of shots fired in the vicinity of Fifth and I

Around 11 a.m., according to scanner, there were reports of what sounded like approximately six shots fired in the area near 5th and I streets in Eureka.  
Officers responded to check out the area.

According to EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell, officers were unable to locate any source or evidence of crime.

Man shot by armed security guard at Shell Gas station had at least one arrest record

At least one arrest record can be found in Humboldt County Jail for Macias from 4/17/2014. He was arrested by EPD for PC1203.2(a), violation of probation. Released on OR since it was a misdemeanor charge.

Fish and Game and other law enforcement capture fleeing suspect near Drake Hill


Fish and Game, HCSO and Fortuna PD have captured a suspect, Curtis Flowers, who had a felony warrant, near Drake Hill and Eel River Dr. Fortuna after a vehicle chase, according to scanner.
