The speakers include: Bryan Hall, Director of the Eureka Rescue Mission, Kintay Johnson, Director of Special Programs within College of the Redwoods, Michael Bishop, Counselor, and Stacey Farmer, Founder of Sisters that Been There.
This event will be broken up into various days, with each speaker addressing the currently incarcerated in their housing units. Some of the speakers offer their personal experience within the criminal justice system, and what helped them change their lives and become the people they are today, while others bring their years of experience in aiding ex-offenders as they look to turn their lives around.
The Programs Division within the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office designed this event to offer the currently incarcerated the opportunity to hear from people that have changed their lives after suffering from their own roadblocks. The ultimate goal is to instill hope and inspiration within the currently incarcerated community as they look to break the cycle of recidivism and change their lives for the better themselves.
