Stalking and criminal threat suspect held to answer to all charges but why was she not remanded into custody given her other pending case?

On 3/28, stalking and criminal threats suspect Analia Martinez who violated a court order was held to held to answer to all charges after a two day preliminary hearing in one 2023 case. Details of defense motions denied are in court minutes. Only Count 4 was reduced to a misdemeanor. Deputy Public Defender Emery Welton represents Martinez in this case. Arraignment on information is on 4/12. In her other case she she is represented by Ms. Kathleen Bryson and charged with PC 273.6 (a) violating a restraining order and PC 647 (j) (4) (a) revenge porn.

I have no idea why Deputy District Carolyn Schaffer did not ask for remand. If you did not read the previous, you should about her arrests, and a previous plea that the DA would have made which would have been contrary to public safety. I covered this case because of the multiple arrests, the serious and repeat charges. Like many court cases, sometimes it takes attention to get the DA's office to move on a case and not just slip through a plea deal. After my initial post, the alleged victims thanked me for my coverage. I have not heard from them in months but they did thank me again after this post and agreed with my coverage making a difference in the DA's response.

People like Analia don't like being held accountable and she and those that enable her spew their misdirected hate at me instead of looking in the mirror and taking responsibility. The community is safer and aware because of coverage on this blog. Imagine what the alleged victims went through for months.

I was harassed for my coverage on this case by a few people and some of the lies, smears were repeated elsewhere anonymously. I had to report the harassment to the DA and to law enforcement. Deputy Shane Steele is an asset to HCSO. It is his work that should get the credit for the result of the preliminary hearing. Contacting the DA' s office did nothing for me or my safety. The DA's office and a Humboldt judge might still give Analia a slap on the wrist and that is not going to keep those Analia threatened safe.
