Spoke with Jon O'Connor on January 2 and he told me that escrow for the former K Mart Eureka location was expected to close this week. He just confirmed right now that escrow closed.
The facility on 4325 Broadway will be for cannabis distribution and (non-volatile) manufacturing.
O'Connor is the Chief Compliance Officer for the existing Papa and Barkley business on 4th street in Eureka.
Local and state permits have already been obtained but now that escrow has closed, building plans have to be submitted to the City of Eureka and those permits have to be secured.
First phase will be set up of the warehouse and distribution. Manufacturing is expected to start in Fall 2019.
The news that Papa and Barkley was expanding further in Eureka was reported first on this blog.
