The far left should thank selfish Heidi, Jeannie, Melinda Ciarabellini and the Humboldt GOP

The final election night reports are in, with results from all 144 precincts and one thing is clear. Heidi Messner and Jeannie Breslin ran for their egos. They are the losers in their respective races.

Heidi Messner never ran against an opponent the last time. People dropped out and she was Ward 2 Councilmember by default. She could have sat this election out and finished her Ward 2 council term.

The only one who thought that Breslin had a chance was Breslin, Melinda Ciarabellini and those foolish Humboldt County Republicans that endorsed her.

What have those same Republicans achieved locally? Nothing.  John Schutt, I hope you are "proud" that you and your fellow local GOPers helped the far left.

Had Messner and Breslin not been selfish, the Eureka Mayor and Ward 3 results tonight would have been vastly different.

Messner and Breslin made a nice alliance with the far left this election. Messner will stay and do what she did the last two years, smile and vote with a majority. Breslin, I am sure will get rewarded with some token position that feeds her ego.

I hope the Humboldt County Republicans who endorsed Jeannie Breslin are happy. I hope Melinda Ciarabellini is happy that she, once again, supported a candidate for her ego and helped a far left candidate win.

Those with money and the good ole Humboldt way of doing business who sit on the sidelines think they will not have their lives and income affected? Do I care?

Hardworking people that wanted their lives to be better  just got stiffed by so called fake conservatives and moderates like the Humboldt GOP and Melinda Ciarabellini.

Local fake conservatives and moderates screwing up isn't news to me. But hopefully it opens the eyes of others.

Those who didn't show up to vote or didn't mail their ballot in time, screw up your own lives. Unfortunately, until I  and others move, we have to pay financially and socially for your stupidity.

At least the far left knows what loyalty means. When more people leave Humboldt and California, those who helped the far left win can stay here and keep complaining and losing.

Anthony, Hailey, Michelle, John and Joe are all decent people. They are successful due to hard work and talent.

So much for Matthew Owen helping Hailey Lamb. Did he help or did he hinder? Yesterday, he was singing Leslie Castellano's praises. If he was such a winner, why didn't his less than two days of "helping" Hailey translate into more votes? Matthew Owen would have been the first to take credit if Hailey Lamb would have won.

The hypocritcal far left now loves duplicitous Matthew Owen and Richard Marks. There was a time they hated and attacked them. There isn't really a difference in political parties or labels locally, the far left and the fake right will take anyone as long as you say what they want to hear.

I have invested a lot of my own money and time to stand up for those who cannot and to improve this community for 15 years.

Unlike some in Humboldt who are only"successful" because of inheritance, cons or government funding for their "business" or marrying into the right family, I have built something out of nothing.

How many of you are known outside Humboldt or recognized by strangers outside the street?

Success is lifting others up with you, not using entrenched, toxic, small town corruption systems to claim "success."

The Humboldt GOP, certain snarky media, lifelong activists , certain businesses and politicians can take credit for their  "success" of abandoned storefronts, drugs, streets covered with feces, needle and litter and no change in Humboldt and Eureka for decades.

So, no one should be bragging until they fix the above problems.

The fake conservatives can hire immigrants for cheap labor and the fake left allows them to be exploited for jobs that don't raise them out of poverty.

The last laugh will be on you when more cannabis money runs out. The Yet, another industry destroyed by small minds with big egos in Humboldt and your taxes will keep increasing. The few that can benefit from legalization temporarily better invest smart and leave while they can.

  1. The Local tally runs parallel to the National and it proves one thing. Voters still think it's free health care and their taxes go to law enforcement.
Think Eureka and Arcata along with Cal Trans has cured the homeless crisis because they don't them anywhere.....come to Mckinleyville their all here and just in time too. Swooping in just in time to save the day will be our favorite Sun Gnome to open shelters and provide all they need. And so what, it's all FREE right? It's pathetic just how stupid and gullible we all are.

    1. Sorry Rusty, but the blame lies exactly with those called out above.

  2. Actually, Breslin and Fullerton couldn't reach 50% combined. Arroyo won an outright majority, so vote splitting was not a factor.
Susan Seaman won at least 45% in a 3-way race. Considering the left candidates won nearly 2/3rds in Harbor District plus Ward 1 and 5, plus a majority in the more conservative Ward 3, it is highly likely that Susan would have won in a 2-way race and that some of Messner's votes split the left as much as the right.

    1. Cody, thank you for your respectful comment. We may not agree on our analysis on why the far left won except for one point, Messner's votes could have been split the left and the right. So, she should have not run and if a third candidate was going to run than at least the voters should have had a third option that was someone new.

  3. Those candidates that publicly endorsed the East West train proposal suffered greatly in this election

    1. Good point Kendall. Those with the dollars to fund millions into that proposal haven't had a success rate, have they? That money could have been better spent investing into better causes and people, instead of egos and the benefit of a few.
